To prevent the entrance of intruders or to keep secure the places
such as compound, yard, house and garden, building of a boundary fence
is the most important step. Building a boundary fence includes placing
of fence posts inside the surface of ground. This was a difficult
work, which one was suppose to perform under the supervision of a
technically expert person.
However, in today's life, it is not completely true. Installing
fence posts has become an easy work, which was difficult in earlier
days. Now it can be performed by anyone with some extra efforts. The
only factor due to which people do not want to do this work is due to
consumption of time. If someone has time and interest in doing this
work then he can easily perform this task. For installing fence
posts, following instructions should be observed by a person.
To start the process of installing fence posts, you have to first
mark the spots where you would install the posts. There should be a
gap of 6-8 feet between each post. Hit a pole so that the marking
would not disappear at any point of time during the whole
process. Mark the perimeter of area where the fence is to be
posted. Place a string along with the perimeter. This will guide you
about the barriers in way like trees, hedges etc. Posts should be
longer in size than the fences, so while purchasing or making the
posts keep this thing in mind. After purchasing the posts, place them
into the surface, where points were marked with spray paint. Dig the
holes and keep in mind that the holes should not be more than two feet
deep. Fill the gravel into the hole around three inches deep. This
will help in drainage systems. Now fix the posts into the holes
carefully.
To fix posts softly, use wires or hammer nails on the posts. Next
step is to prepare the mix of concrete. To prepare this mixture, add
three parts of gravel, one part of cement and two parts of sand. Add
water and mix this to make a thick substance. Pour this mix into the
holes, where posts are placed. Fill these holes up to ground
level. Check the level and set the position of posts, if needed. Apply
some concrete around the base of the posts with the help of
trowel.
While preparing the concrete mixture, use the wheelbarrow to mix
it. The materials, which are required at the time of installing fence
posts, are cement, gravel, wires, fence posts, wheelbarrows etc. All
these materials come in use for building the fence posts. Before
installing the posts, it is necessary to make sure about the
boundaries or limits of area. If one is not sure, then he can check
the same with his neighbors or real estate agents. Person must check
the rules and regulations before starting the fencing process,
associated with the type and height of fences, and should fulfill all
the legal formalities.
